Frequently Asked Questions
Is DPF cleaning better than buying a new filter?
In most cases, yes. Professional machine cleaning restores 90%+ of original airflow at a fraction of the cost. A new car DPF costs £800-£2,000+; cleaning starts from £180+VAT. We only recommend replacement if the filter substrate is physically damaged or beyond restoration.
How long does machine DPF cleaning take?
Most DPFs are cleaned and ready to collect within 24 hours. Same-day turnaround is often available for urgent cases — call us to check. Fleet customers can book planned maintenance slots in advance.
What symptoms mean my DPF needs cleaning?
Common signs include: DPF warning light on the dashboard, loss of power or limp mode, frequent forced regenerations, increased fuel consumption, strong exhaust smell, or MOT failure due to emissions.
Can a severely blocked DPF be cleaned?
Most blocked DPFs can be significantly restored through machine cleaning. Results depend on the level of damage and contamination type. We assess condition before and after cleaning and will be honest about whether replacement is the better option.
Is DPF cleaning safe for the filter?
Yes. Our controlled machine-based process is designed to clean the filter substrate while keeping the unit intact. We inspect every filter before cleaning and will advise you if we find physical damage that makes cleaning inadvisable.
Do you clean DPFs from plant machinery and tractors?
Yes. We regularly clean DPFs from excavators, loaders, tractors, harvesters, generators and other off-road equipment. These often block faster due to low-RPM operation and limited regeneration cycles.
What vehicles do you cover?
We clean DPFs from all diesel vehicles and machinery — cars, vans, trucks, HGVs, buses, coaches, plant machinery, agricultural equipment and industrial engines. If it has a DPF, we can almost certainly clean it.
Do you offer fleet or trade pricing?
Yes. We work with transport companies, bus operators, garages and plant hire firms. Volume pricing, planned maintenance slots and priority turnaround are all available for regular customers.
Do I need to remove the DPF myself?
We work with the DPF unit once removed from the vehicle. Most customers have their garage or mechanic remove and refit the filter. If you need help arranging removal, contact us and we can advise.
How do I know the cleaning has worked?
Every clean includes before and after airflow measurement. You receive documentation showing the improvement in flow, giving you confidence that the filter has been properly restored.
